Can a Travato be used in the winter?
Not just drive the RV in the winter, but to have actual full use of the RV in the winter. There’s a big difference. Well, we’ve had our Travato, Lance, for several months now. Winnebago did some things for us to make him more winter-friendly right out of the gate. And just by my own nature, I had to tinker with things even further.
What kind of gas tank does a Travato have?
The Travato has a dent resistant front end chassis with higher placed front end headlights. Fog lights included. This B Coach has a quiet motor with a get-up-and-go engine. Front wheel drive, hill-climb assist button, and an all weather use. The Travato 59G has a 24 gallon fuel tank and 16-18 mpg range.
Where are the heaters on a Travato Van?
This is a lot easier to do – and a lot less expensive from an energy management perspective – if those lines are on the inside of the van. There are tank heaters on the grey and black tanks, on the macerator pump that drains the grey tank, and on some key junctions in the waste water system.

Where is the fresh water tank on a Travato 59G?
That said, here’s what they did for us in the winter-RVing department: The Fresh Water Tank – this is actually standard on the Travato 59G, but it’s such a big deal that I thought I’d call it out. The fresh water tank is inside the heated space of the van.
How are drawers inset in a kitchen cabinet?
The bottom drawers are inset without a frame (notice that the cabinet DOES have a face frame, but the individual drawers are not individually framed). Then we have full overlay drawers that are not framed in this instance. Notice the drawers hang OVER the sides of the cabinet and are not individually framed.

Shelves would be vastly more practical – and Winnebago could have designed the shelves to be removable for those that really want to hang up a shirt. Retrofitting shelves after the fact is never going to be as good as having them properly anchored and built in.

Winnebago builds the Travato inside of Dodge Ram ProMaster van shells, and there are some issues that are thus mostly out of Winnebago’s control. Here are a few ProMaster issues that bother us…
