How come my RV heater is not working?
In some RV’s the thermostat isn’t directly connected to the onboard 12-Volt batteries. Then turn the thermostat on and give it a minute or two to reset it’s internal program. If it is indeed a simple low battery problem the thermostat should act normally, and the furnace should fire again.
Are there any problems with the Dometic furnace?
We’ve had NO issues with our furnace since we got the Cougar. BUT, yesterday we needed the heat. The fan started like always, then the click and fire in the furnace lit for about 10 secs and then went off. I’ve looked into everything, gas/thermostat setting/breaker/15 amp fuse.
Why does my camper fan not ignite the furnace?

An internal sail switch senses low air flow and which cause the furnace not to ignite. This means the fan will run but no heat will be produced.

What does it mean when furnace wont ignite camper?
A good way to test this out is to run the blower, (blower is apt to operate fine under 10.5 V) if the blower runs then that means the battery supply may be under 10.5 V and thus its not able to open the furnace valve. Best way will be to use multimeter and clear the doubts, it would show you exact output voltage.
What to do if your Dometic furnace catches fire?
I’ve tried changing temps on the thermostat and leaving the system on auto. occasionally the blower comes on, but not the fire. The Dometic user /Installation manuals are not help, as I have no clue which modal number. Even you tube doesn’t cover this. Any suggestions or help are appreciated. Is the ignitor tip on a Dometic furnace reliable?
Gary, those ignition systems are “fairly” reliable. Its basically a step up HV coil/transformer that receives pulses and the ignitor tip sparking to light the gas. I’ve encountered more ignitor tip failures (cracks, carbon traces, shorts, mis adjustments) or control board failures then the HV ignitor coil/transformer itself.
