Why is my starter clicking but not starting?
A dead battery is the most common cause of a clicking noise when trying to start your car. Usually, you will hear a rapid succession of clicks. The noise indicates that the starter solenoid or relay is operating, but there isn’t enough battery current to turn the starter motor.

Note: this may not be the case with all Traxter’s shifting problems but if you have recently replaced the sprag gear/clutch (part 41/42) in the ignition assembly this MAY be your issue. Like he said, most likely is your battery. However, when the hold in coil is out on the starter solenoid it will do the same thing that you are just describing. In that case you need a new starter motor or you could try to rebuild your solenoid. The starter motor and is very easy to swap out. First, disconnect your battery. Do not skip this step.
Why does my starter click when trying to start?

the starter clutch, aka sprag clutch, is a one way gear clutch that is located behind the flywheel cover, and behind the flywheel itself. unless a wire was not plugged in enough, there are no parts on that cover or effected by that flywheel cover that would cause your shifting to fail.
